Join us, and walk in the footsteps of the Great Spirits at Indian Springs Ranch. Hike the stream and the mountains and see the natural herbs that grow. Then celebrate the Native American culture and make a Zuni Fetish.

I am lucky enough to be able to call Indian Springs Ranch my home. When I first arrive at the ranch 20 years ago, I fell in love with the mountains the stream and the beautiful energy. The ranch had been in the same family for over 100 years; that of Cecil B DeMille who housed his pheasant hunting lodge here and had guests such as Errol Flynn. Earlier than that, at the turn of the century it had been home to gold miners and the granny house is built on their old foundation. However many years before that, this was home to Native Americans as was most of this national forest. You can still feel their wonderful presence on the land and sometimes they even show themselves. The Native American Spirits protect the ranch and all spiritually minded are very welcome. So on this day we are going to honor their presence at the ranch and Native American’s everywhere and take a day to walk in their footsteps.

We will be hiking to the top of the mountains, where there is a beautiful 360 view where you can see for miles. Then we will be back at the base of the mountains walking along the stream.
We’ll stop to collect California Sage and other herbs and to meditate, drum, sign and pay homage to these great spirits.

Then back at the Granny house,  with the help of my dear friend  Eloisa Armida  we will learn some traditional crafts, including making a Zuni fetish.

We’ll also feast on some traditional Native American cuisine and have a wonderful relaxing morning.

You will need to be moderately in shape ( the mountain is a dirt road that is steep, all up hill about 1 mile) and the stream is a bit over grown in places. Good walking shoes are advised and covered legs as the grass can be scratchy. Then bring small back pack or bag, water shoes if you don’t want to get your other shoes wet and a towel to sit on. We’ll supply bottles of water and snacks then lunch back at the Granny house and the supplies for the crafts.
